Floating Support is for people over 16 years old - with or without dependent children - who have their own accommodation and find it hard living on their own.

What does 'floating' mean?

We work wherever we are most needed, moving from property to property. The amount of help we provide varies according to each person's level and type of need. Our priority is to support people who are otherwise faced with homelessness or may need the intervention of care services.

How we can help

You can talk to a Connection worker about the kind of support you need and, together, work out a plan which suits your own situation and which could last from two to 18 months. Regular reviews will be built in, to see how you are getting on.

We realize that you may find it hard to access or engage with other services, or may simply not be eligible. We can help with this.

How do I get help?

  • Through your housing officer, if you are a council or housing association tenant
  • Through your social worker, if you have one
  • Through an advice agency or drop-in centre
  • You can self-refer by completing the referral form or call us for more information
